Edison Capital Announces $1 Billion Strategic Investment Programme in Israel Over the Next Decade
25 Apr 2026
Dubai, UAE / Tel Aviv, Israel - Edison Capital today announced a landmark strategic initiative to invest up to $1 billion USD in Israel over the next ten years, marking one of the most significant long-term investment commitments by a UAE-headquartered private investment group into the Israeli market since the signing of the Abraham Accords.
The programme will focus on sectors where Edison Capital believes Israel possesses world-leading innovation, technological leadership, and long-term structural growth opportunities, including:
- Defense & Dual-Use Technology
- Artificial Intelligence & AI Diagnostics
- Data Centres & Digital Infrastructure
- Commodity Trading & Supply Chain Solutions
- Residential Real Estate
- Commercial Real Estate
- Renewable Energy Projects
- Logistics & Industrial Assets
- Mixed-Use Urban Developments
The expansion forms part of Edison Capital’s broader Middle East growth strategy and reflects the company’s conviction that economic cooperation, technological partnership, and regional integration will increasingly define the next chapter of the Middle East economy.
The firm confirmed that Edison Capital Middle East, which already maintains operations across Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Riyadh, will establish a permanent presence in Tel Aviv from August 2026.
A Long-Term Strategic Commitment
Edison Capital stated that the $1 billion commitment would be deployed progressively over a ten-year horizon through a combination of direct acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic equity investments, infrastructure partnerships, development projects, venture growth capital and structured financing solutions.
The company said it would initially prioritise investments that can create regional connectivity between Israel and Gulf markets, particularly in sectors where Israeli innovation can combine with Gulf capital, infrastructure, and market scale.
According to Edison Capital, the programme is not intended to be a short-term speculative deployment, but rather a generational investment strategy focused on long-duration growth and regional economic integration.
Israel’s Innovation Economy
Edison Capital described Israel as “one of the most entrepreneurial and technologically advanced economies in the world,” highlighting the country’s globally recognised ecosystem in cybersecurity, AI, medical diagnostics, defence technology, semiconductors, water technology, renewable energy and advanced software engineering.
The company noted that despite geopolitical volatility, Israel has consistently demonstrated an ability to produce globally competitive businesses and technologies across multiple sectors.
Over the past two decades, Israel has established itself as a global innovation hub, often referred to as the “Startup Nation,” producing one of the highest concentrations of venture-backed technology companies per capita anywhere in the world.
Edison Capital believes this ecosystem will continue to expand as regional trading relationships deepen between Israel and Gulf economies.
CEO Statement
Calum Melville, Chief Executive Officer of Edison Capital, said:
“Israel is an incredibly entrepreneurial country with exceptional opportunities across a wide range of sectors. We believe the long-term trajectory of the Middle East is towards greater economic cooperation, increased regional stability, and expanded trading relationships between forward-thinking countries.”
“The UAE and Saudi Arabia are reshaping the region economically and strategically. We believe that over the coming years we will continue to see greater normalisation, increased commercial cooperation, and deeper economic integration between Israel and parts of the wider Middle East.”
“For long-term investors, that creates significant opportunities — not just within Israel itself, but across regional supply chains, infrastructure, technology partnerships and capital markets.”
“Our investment strategy is based on long-term fundamentals. Israel possesses world-class intellectual capital, exceptional universities, globally recognised technology companies, and a culture of innovation that is difficult to replicate.”
“At Edison Capital we invest behind sectors, infrastructure and technologies that we believe will shape the next twenty years. Israel will play a major role in that future.”
Sector Focus
One of the core pillars of Edison Capital’s Israel strategy will be investment into defence and dual-use technologies, alongside artificial intelligence, data centres, renewable infrastructure and urban development projects.
The company believes that geopolitical instability, AI adoption, digital infrastructure demand and regional economic integration will continue driving substantial long-term opportunities across the Middle East.
Edison Capital also identified logistics infrastructure, industrial assets and commodity trading as important components of its Israel strategy.
Commitment to Regional Stability
While announcing the investment programme, Edison Capital emphasised its belief that long-term prosperity in the Middle East depends on increased stability, economic cooperation and pragmatic diplomacy.
Melville said:
“I live in hope that the countries of the Middle East will continue moving towards cooperation, dialogue and economic partnership for the benefit of their people, neighbouring countries and the wider region.”
“The future of the Middle East should be built around investment, innovation, infrastructure, technology and opportunity — not endless conflict.”
“Economic integration creates jobs, prosperity and long-term stability. We believe business and investment can play a constructive role in helping build stronger regional relationships.”
Tel Aviv Office Opening
Edison Capital confirmed that preparations are underway for the opening of its Tel Aviv office in August 2026.
The office will serve as the company’s Israeli investment headquarters and regional coordination centre for future partnerships and investment activity.
