01 Jul 2025
Global investment firm Edison Capital has announced the official opening of its new regional headquarters in Dubai. The move, effective this month, reinforces Dubai`s growing status as a leading investment and business hub in the Middle East. The new offices will serve as the company`s operational base for the entire Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA) region.
The Dubai headquarters will focus on advancing our operational activities across the region. Edison Capital will invest in a suite of sectors, starting with general trading of soft commodities across the Middle East, Africa (north, east and west), south east Asia, China and Australia. The company`s founder and CEO, Calum G Melville, described Dubai as a "strategic bridge between East and West" that offers an ideal environment for growth and innovation.
The decision to relocate to Dubai is a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion strategy. It aligns perfectly with the UAE`s national initiatives and outstanding business culture which aim to position the country as a world leader as a business hub. Local and regional business leaders anticipate Edison Group`s presence will add $1.4 billion to the Dubai and UAE economy in 2026.
This expansion is part of a larger trend of multinational corporations choosing Dubai for their regional operations. Other major companies, such as the global digital operator VEON, have also recently announced plans to move their headquarters to the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Similarly, Nestlé, the world`s largest food and beverage company, is set to move its MENA head office to Expo City Dubai. These developments underscore Dubai`s pro-business environment, its strategic location, and its commitment to a diversified, innovation-driven economy.
